Our ingredients are few, which means we don't complicate or compromise your health with fillers or preservatives. In fact, only 1% of the formulation (in our lotions and creams) contain preservatives. We specifically chose a food grade preservative for your health and safety. And our soaps contain no preservatives at all.

Tierra Mia Organics takes guidance from Nature in designing skin care products that help balance the skin. We have carefully selected what we put in our products for the purpose of benefiting the health of the skin. We don’t use the words “natural” or "organic" loosely. Our ingredients are not "sort-of-natural" or "natural-like," rather, our formulas are made to be whole and simplistic, leaving the brilliance to nature. No fillers and no lies in our products. As a family-owned and operated company with high standards for you and your family, our skin care products are expertly crafted from the highest quality natural ingredients. Gluten FreeAll Tierra Mia Organics products are 100% gluten free.It may come as a surprise, but gluten can be found in many beauty products, such as foundation, lipstick, lip gloss, eye makeup, lotion, and shampoo. It's used as a binder, and many big name-brand products use it in their creams and lotions, which contain gluten-derived oils. Often, vitamin E in beauty products, may be derived from wheat (which means it also contains gluten). |

No Animal TestingMany beauty and skin care products contain chemicals that can have dangerous side effects. U.S. law has required animal safety testing of drugs and cosmetics since 1938 when Congress passed the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act in response to public outcry after several tragic incidents involving untested products. |
No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)On average women add over 200 chemicals to their skin daily, with more than 60% of these being absorbed directly into the bloodstream. It is little wonder more and more people are searching for a natural solution. SLS is a detergent and surfactant, which means it breaks surface tension which separates molecules and allows better interaction between the product and the surface it cleans (your hair for example). It creates lather in products such as shampoo and toothpaste. It is inexpensive and is why sodium lauryl sulfate is found in a many industrial cleaning agents such as engine degreaser and industrial strength detergents. It's also widely used as a skin irritant when testing products used to heal skin irritations. There have been conflicting reports published over the years about the use of sodium lauryl sulfate, the most concerning are reports of links between cancer and SLS.

No ParabensParabens are used to prevent the growth of microbes in cosmetic products and can be absorbed through skin, blood, and the digestive system. Parabens have been found in biopsies from breast tumors at concentrations similar to those found in consumer products. Additionally, parabens can be found in a wide variety of products including shampoos, lotions, deodorants, scrubs, and eye makeup. Parabens have been found in nearly all urine samples from U.S. adults regardless of ethnic, socioeconomic, or geographic backgrounds. Adolescents and adult females had higher levels of methylparaben and propylparaben in their urine than did males of similar ages. |
No Artificial Colors
These chemicals make their way through the skin or down the digestive tract into the bloodstream. The body can filter out some of these residual chemicals, but others remain. Some of these chemicals are known to cause skin to age prematurely, break out, or become hyper sensitive. What's worse is what isn't known about the long term effects of the majority of the chemicals used in skin care products. |

No Artificial Fragrances95% of the chemicals in most commercial fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum and natural gas, known as petrochemicals. On average, 80% of fragrance formulations are comprised of these chemicals and in some cases, 100% of a formula can be synthetic. |
No Harsh Chemical PreservativesUnfortunately, when it comes to skin care products, “organic" doesn’t always mean chemical-free. Preserving products is a challenge for many manufacturers. Most retailers require large orders, which are often left sitting on shelves for as long as 5 years. Many "natural" and "organic" lines use chemicals, such as formaldehyde (used to embalm bodies), alcohol (strips away skin’s natural oils in high proportions), benzoic acid (thought to exacerbate eczema), benzyl alcohol (linked to contact dermatitis), phenoxyethanol (petroleum based), and sodium benzoate (linked to DNA damage In high doses). At Tierra Mia Organics, we do not use any of the aforementioned chemicals. It's more difficult and costly to do so, and it means that our products have a shorter shelf life, but it's worth it to keep our products safer and gentler to use. |
